Many of you will already be quite familiar with Echo – the locally-grown time-banking concept, connecting people with skills and time, to others who need something, or a task done. They call it ‘the economy of hours’, which is about as spot-on a definition as it needs : no money required. Like, say you’re a designer, happy to trade an hour of your time for an ‘echo’ to someone who needs it. Then, a few weeks later, you see a local yoga class, happy to take payment in the form of that echo you put in the bank. Get the drift? Yeah, sure you do. (If you haven’t, go give it a try right now. Echo’s cool.)
Now, imagine that same idea, but applied on a larger scale. Say, your entire business, the one you’d really love to grow, but don’t have a lot of cash laying around just yet to pay for it all. Imagine having a power-team of people who think in echoes instead, connected with all the right people, experience, and business savvy to help your business weather the tricky start-up survival phase, plugging it into a network trading in time, skills and expertise, rather than cold hard cash?
This is essentially what Echo++ is, an all new venture from the same people behind the original Echo concept.

If anyone in the extended 90 Main Yard family is interested in getting their own business involved in the program, we’d love to hear about it. Our own co-working community is precisely the type of skill-heavy bunch who could benefit or contribute to the program – we’re currently looking at how we might be able to help support the initiative, and would love to hear your thoughts.
Let us know what you think about Echo++ and how it might help you and yours (via Facebook, Twitter or email), and definitely go and check out their website!
